Tourist Guide Llangollen
Llangollen is a small, serene town located on the River Dee in Denbighshire, Wales. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North Wales and has a tiny population of about 3,000 inhabitants. Although Llangollen is seeped in myth and legend, it has its modern character intact.
The climate of the region is mild with dry, warm summers and wet winters. High rainfall is received in this region with snowfall being a regular feature. The period from May to August is a pleasant time to visit the place owing to the bright, sunny atmosphere.
With a history of almost three thousand years, Llangollen is named after Saint Collen, a patron of the town. The city is still in the initial stages of economic development with agriculture and tourism as the main components. It was granted the Fairtrade County status in 2004.
