Tourist Guide Newport
Having stood on banks of River Usk, situates roughly between Bristol and Cardiff, it’s the ‘cultural capital’ and ‘biggest urban region in Monmouthshire’s historic county. Moreover, it’s governed by ‘unitary Newport City Council’.
As per 2001 census, Newport’s population was 140100, thereby having made it the 3rd most densely populated city in Wales. This census had also stated that core built-up area’s population was 116143.
The name ‘Newport’ has been derived from a reality that ‘Caerleon’ was amongst the ‘old ports’ on river Usk. However, as ships went on to become bigger, navigation could no longer be made possible. Hence, a novel dock/port was constructed. This is the place where ‘Riverfront Arts Center’ stands at present.
The climate of Newport can be described as ‘moderate temperate’ one, with weather occasionally remaining the same. This place is known as one amongst the sunnier and warmer locations all over the UK.
