The flora and fauna found in West Nose Creek aren’t found anywhere else in the world. The slow, steady movement with regards to water goes on to produce a rich, riparian zone. This park is also said to have an appreciable amount of ‘native shrubland’, grassland, and historic ‘stone quarry’. To state further, this park comprises of ‘Split Rock’, which is one amongst the finest known glacial erratic within the city.
West Nose Creek Park is situated along banks of ‘West Nose Creek’ adjoining its ‘confluence’ with ‘Nose Creek’; which lies in the north-eastern part of city. It had been erected in early 1990s. An area of 73 hectares is occupied by West Nose Creek Park.
Nose Creek Valley had been ‘runoff’ from ‘final glaciation’. Hence, it’s considerably younger in comparison with Elbow and Bow river valleys. Creek has also been carved via bedrock in some areas.
