Downtown Calgary is a region of central Calgary in Alberta. It is a larger community which has three neighborhoods and a number of districts. The population of this neighborhood is still low as compared to other cities irrespective of major rejuvenation initiatives and development of major apartment and condominium projects. The combined population, as per the 2006 census of the three downtown neighborhoods was 12,470.
