Edmonton Parks and Garden: Information about Buena Vista Park

Buena Vista Park

Rating:

Located on the western end of Edmonton, Alberta, Buena Vista Park is a dog-friendly park that includes a large off-leash area perfect for roaming around, throwing frisbees and baseballs or laying out and reading your favorite page-turner.

Unlike at some Edmonton parks, dogs aren’t just tolerated but welcome to run free in Buena Vista’s spacious greens. The four-legged friends and their owners can also explore the park on its dirt hiking trails, which run near the North Saskatchewan River as it winds through the city.

With its perfect open spaces Buena Vista is also a popular hot balloon launching point. During the warmer months of the year, balloonists can be seen preparing their flying vessels for takeoff and setting off into the air throughout the day.

Close to many of Edmonton’s other popular destinations, Buena Vista is located just north of Laurier Park and west of the North Saskatchewan.
