Tourist Guide Kananaskis
Located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Kananaskis is a small village nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. It is an improvement district and covers an area of 4,211 Square Kilometer of land which is bestowed with beautiful landscape. The Banff national park is located North West of the village. The area is a paradise and is also called “K Country”. The place can be across the year and is full of various flora and fauna, mountain scenery etc.
The Kananaskis has no incorporated communities. The total population of the place in 2006 was 429. The area was host to 28th G* summit in 2002. It was the first and only G8 summit that was hosted by western Canada. A section of highway 40 runs across the area. The area was named in 1858 by John Palliser after the Kananaskis River subsequent to a Cree.
Transitional Climate is mostly found in the Kananaskis valley. The climate is a mix of continentality of plains and a milder and wetter climate of the west region.
