Located on the South west corner of Alberta, the park shares border with Glacier National Park Montana in USA. It was inaugurated in 1895 and was fourth national park of Canada. The wilderness and rugged terrain of the park covers an area of 505 square kilometer. It has been designated as World Biosphere reserve in 1979 and World Heritage Site in 1995.
