The city has a population of 21,500, and is considered as the 11th largest city in Alberta. Spruce Grove is located near the geographical center province at 30 kilometers from downtown Edmonton and 14 kilometer from the Edmonton city limits. It is also a part of the Edmonton Capital Region. As per the 2008 municipal Census, the population of Spruce Grove is 21,500. This estimates to 22.0 percent of increase to the population to the official result of the Canada 2001 Census, which were 15,983. The city has a land area of 25.40 kilometers and a population density of 738.4 kilometers.
The climate of the city is an annual average precipitation of 14 inches of rainfall and an annual average snowfall of 53 inches. The warmest month is July with average high temperature estimating to 73 degree Fahrenheit and average low temperature being to 54 degree Fahrenheit.
