Founded in 1914 to preserve a part of the Columbia Mountains natural region, Mount Revelstoke National Park covers 260 sq km.
The rainforests, sub-alpine forests and wetlands of this region act as habitat for the grizzly bear, mountain goat and caribou. The park is famous for its wildflower displays in summer.
Skiing is extremely popular in Mount Revelstoke. The ski-jump here is internationally renowned as one of the finest. Try hiking the unique Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk Trail or the picturesque Giant Cedars Trail. The adventurous could attempt climbing the peaks of the Clachnacudainn. Backcountry camping and wildlife viewing are common tourist activities. For a rare experience, drive along the Meadows in the Sky Parkway, a mountain road 26 km uphill.
