This national marine conservation area was established in 1998 to protect the aquatic wildlife of the St Lawrence Estuary and the Saguenay Fjord.
The Saguenay St Lawrence Marine Park is a great place for observing whales. This marine park is home to the white beluga whales and several other species of aquatic animals. The Point-Noire Interpretation and Observation Centre would be an interesting place to visit. Here, one has the opportunity to understand several oceanographic phenomena like the rip tide zones etc. This place is also good for bird watching, observing the marine mammals and enjoying scenic trails. Cap de Bon-Désir Information and Observation Centre provides interesting information on the marine life and navigation on the St Lawrence Estuary. |
