Tourist Guide Carnbrook
Located in the southeast British Columbia, Carnbrook is a seat of the Regional District of East Kootenay. The city is relatively flat and covers an area of 25.14 square Km. Towards the west is the Purcell Mountains while towards the north and east is the Rocky Mountain Range. It is the largest city is the Rocky Mountain region. It is one of the sunniest places in British Cloumbia. The panorama of green valley, the snow capped mountains and lakes take the breath away.
In 2007 the total population of the place was 20667, and that of the metro area was 26,229. The land is native to Ktunaxa who originally inhabited the area. In the early 1800s, David Thompson was one of the first explorers coming to this land. The town was also called “Joseph’s Prairie”. It was renamed after the founder’s ancestral home in Kent England.
The city is comparatively dry climate and precipitation mainly occurs in the form of snow. It has very few foggy days, and experiences some of the lightest wind speed around the year.
