British Columbia is connected with the major towns and cities with well defined road systems. The Crowsnest Pass Highway, Trans-Canada Highway, the Yellowhead Highway and Highway 2 are the four major routes that offer bus service through out Canada.
The Public Transit system mainly consists of diesel buses while the electric buses operate along the popular routes such as 98 B-Line, 99 B-Line and Vancouver International Airport. The SkyTrain is a light rapid transit system that serves regions of Vancouver, North Surrey, New Westminster and Burnaby. The rail services have greatly developed in the subsequent decades and are the chief mode of long-distance transportation. The Grand Trunk Pacific and the Canadian National Railway are the two major rail routes that operate around the city.
