Kamloops Wildlife Park assists the preservation of the threatened and the endangered species by means of education, rehabilitation and captive breeding techniques. This park was the proposal of the founder of the park, John Moelaert. At present, this park is governed by a volunteer of 14 board of Directors. This park attained its national status in 1987.
