Tourist Guide Richmond
The coastal city of Richmond is located in British Columbia in Canada. to the north of Richmond are Vancouver and Burnaby, towards east is New Westminster, towards south is Delta and the western border is formed by the Strait of Georgia. The Vancouver International Airport is also located in Richmond. Hugh McRoberts was the founder of the city who names it after a local farmstead. Stevenson, an old fishing village was one of the earliest settlements in Richmond.
In 2008 the population of Richmond was 188,100. After Vancouver, Surry and Burnbay it is the fourth largest city. The place was incorporated as the District Municipality in 1879. In 1910 from Minoru Racetrack the first flight was made in British Columbia. It was declared a city is 1990. It is a working harbor today. The main economic activities include services, tourism, retailing, light manufacturing, fishing etc.
The place has temperate climate and as compared to Vancouver it receives 30%25 less rainfall as it proximity to the mountain is less. The temperatures in summers are mild and warm and it snows in winter. The place is also prone to fog.
