Salmon Arm is a tourist town during the summer time with lots of beaches and camping facilities and house boat rentals. Tourism is important to the city and there are lots of tourists from Vancouver and Calgary. These tourists visit the city during the summer season either stopping en route to other holiday destinations or for visiting the Shuswap Lake.

This city has a wide variety of restaurants and cultural activities. The public beaches at the Canoe and Sunnybrae are crowded during the time of summer. The Salmon Arm Roots and Blues festival which is held in August attracts lots of tourist. In 2007, it had over 20,000 visitors.

The RJ Haney Heritage Park and Museum is Salmon Arm’s main museum and which celebrates the history of the region. One can also watch hockey played by the Salmon Arms Silverbacks at the Sunwave Center. Salmon Arm offers a lot of recreational amenities for all. Some of the local attractions are the waterfowl sanctuary, rodeo and the Herald Provincial Park.
