Surrey can be described as one of the Canadian cities located in province of ‘British Columbia, Canada’. Surrey lies within ‘Metro Vancouver’ district. Moreover, from the geographic point of view, it’s at center of bigger region called ‘Lower mainland’ of British Columbia. The 6 ‘town centers’ which comprise the ‘City of Surrey’ include Whalley/City Center, Fleetwood, South Surrey, Cloverdale, Newton, and Guildford.
The incorporation of Surrey took place in the year 1879. It goes on to encompass the land which was previously occupied by loads of Coast Salish-speaking aborigines. When H J Brewer, an Englishman went on to look across Fraser river; that too, from ‘Westminster’; he noticed a piece of land reminiscent of Surrey County, i.e. his native place (in England). This led to formation of Surrey in Canada.
Surrey’s climate is conventionally inter-coastal Pacific North-west; wet winters, with ‘heavy rainfall’ that lasts in to early spring. Summers are sunny and mild. Autumns are cool.
