With 11 miles of shoreline in the city proper and dozens more in the surrounding metropolitan area, Vancouver is home to many great beaches that people of all ages can enjoy.
Whether you’re looking for a view of the Vancouver skyline, marvel at the beautiful natural scenery or a nice day out in the water, you’re sure to find the beach experience you’re after in Vancouver. Jericho, Spanish Bank, Centennial, Ambleside, Second, Third, Kitsiliano and Wreck Beaches all have plenty of sand to lay your towel on and clean water to swim in and breathtaking sights and sounds.
While the 54-hectare Jericho Beach close to downtown Vancouver is known for its family-based atmosphere, you’re more likely to have a quieter beach getaway at Centennial, which is an hour’s drive the city. Meanwhile, Spanish Bank is rife with sand and grassy areas perfect for sunbathing and clothing is optional at Wreck Beach.
