There is a streetcar system in Vancouver which began in 1890 and fan from Granville Street Bridge to Westminster Avenue, which is now the Main Street. The only major freeway within the city limits is the Highway 1 which passes through the north eastern corner of the city. There are also small passenger ferries which operate in the False Creek and which provides commuter service to nearby areas apart from Vancouver.
