The Craigdarroch Castle is an impressive and a striking Victoria-era Mansion that is a short drive from the downtown harbor. The building was built by BC Coal Baron Robert Dunsmuir in the 1890s. This Historical Museum Society now owns the Craigdarroch Castle and receives almost 150,000 visitors yearly. There are 87 stairs which go up the four and half stories. Here there are 39 rooms which are furnished in a lavish manner in the 1890s-1900s periods.
