Whether you’re entering starting gates of your day or nearing the night’s home stretch, Vancouver, British Columbia’s Hastings Park Racecourse is the place to be for top-notch horse racing. Thrilling live races throughout the spring and summer have made the track one of the city’s premier sports entertainment options ever since it opened in 1889.
Located four miles east of Vancouver’s downtown district, Hastings Park hosts live races on Friday nights from June to September and Saturdays and Sundays from April until November. Meanwhile, races from as far away as Australia and Hong Kong are simulcast at the track all day long throughout the year. General admission into the venue is free and the minimum bet on any race is $2.
For those not enthralled with horse racing, Hastings Park also has a gaming floor with over 600 slot machines, several sit-down restaurants and an entertainment lounge.
