Downtown Vancouver is the southeast portion of the peninsula in the north central part of Vancouver proper. This neighborhood is the commercial, business, financial, cultural and government center of the city and also known as the Metro Vancouver lower mainland region. This neighborhood also includes residential neighborhoods in the form of high rise apartments and condominiums in Coal Harbor and Yaletown.
