Victoria International Airport is quite close to the town of Sidney on the Saanich Peninsula and is located 22 km to the north of the city, in Victoria.
The Victoria Airport Authority charges Airport Improvement Fee for each outgoing passenger, like most airports that are run by local authorities in Canada.
The airport is one of Canada's second busiest airports in terms of passengers serving 1,481,606 passengers.
The airport is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency and can currently handle aircraft with 150 passengers normally or 450 passengers, when unloaded from the aircraft in stages.
The local business and taxi services run direct shuttle bus service to Victoria. If you hire a car then you are just twenty minutes away from downtown Victoria, via Highway 17.
The airport also provides additional Terminal Building public parking, a walking path around the parameter of the airport property and numerous hotels giving easy access to the airport.
