Craigdarroch Castle is a historic Victorian era Chateauesque mansion which has 39 rooms and is more than 20,000 square feet of castle. It was constructed in the 1890s as a family residence for a wealthy coal baron, Robert Dunsmuir and his wife Joan. Established in 1979, this historic building receives 150,000 visitors per year. A must see attraction; the castle was built from 1887 to 1890.
