Fort Rodd Hill Museum is in Victoria in British Columbia, Canada.
Fort Rodd Hill Museum National Historic Site of Canada is a nineteenth-century coastal artillery fort built by the British Government to defend Victoria and the naval base at Esquimalt Harbour. The site covers over 44 acres and the Fort includes guardhouses, gun batteries, command posts and barracks. Audio-visual programmes, interpretive displays of artefacts explain the site’s history.
The site lies in the Gulf of Georgia lowlands and is home to wildlife like deer and raccoons, harbour seals and sea lions.
This site is adjacent to Fisgard Lighthouse National Historic Site, which commemorates the first lighthouse on Canada’s West coast. There are opportunities for scuba-diving, picnicking and bird-watching.
