Winkler is the region of Manitoba which is situated on the coasts of the ancient glacial Lake Agassiz.  The Town is just a few km east of a secondary beach. The Emerado Beach splits the soil of the area and the soil is good for irrigation and production of corn, bean crops and potato. The quality of the soil is too good to cultivate sugar beets, corn and beans and small grains. The climate is continental, including freezing winters and warm hot summers.
