Tourist Guide Edmundston
The city of Edmundston is situated on the border of New Brunswick, Madawaska County, at the Y-junction of Madawaska and Saint John rivers of the north-western region of the province. As per the census of 2006 Edmundston had a population of about 16,643. The total area of the city is around 106.90 km.
The highest and lowest elevation of the city is about 264m (866ft) and 151 m (495 ft) respectively. About 98 per cent of the population of the city speaks French. Edmundston is the highest city of the province of New Brunswick. The city was formed in the year 1998. The city shares its borders with Maine, the American state and Quebec. Edmundston is enclosed by olden Appalachian Mountains and the Madawaska River which runs through the city and descends into the Saint John River. Edmundston city is a home of the New Brunswick Botanical gardens. About 17.5 acres of the city is surrounded by this botanical garden.
