The Reversing Falls are a series of rapids which are on the Saint John River and which are situated in Saint John. The river runs through a narrow gorge before it empties into the Fundy Bay. This phenomenon is caused by the tremendous rise and fall of the tides of the Fundy Bay which is the known as the highest bay in the world. The bay’s tidal action is affected by the funnel shape of the bay and also by the phase of the Moon.
