The town of Burin is located in Newfoundland, Canada. It was included as a part of Canada in 1950. The town is situated above the Burin Peninsula in the Placentia Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The fishing industry has now become the major economy providing business for the people residing here. According to the recent population census taken in 2008, the town recorded to have a population just above 3000 which indicates that it is a moderately populated region. The population has shown a positive increase ever since 2000. According to the North American Census Bureau, the town is supposed to have a total area of just about 20.6 square kilometers. The religion followed here is uniquely Christianity. The climate over here is severely cold in winter and most of the year and experiences high temperature of around 15 degrees in the month of July. The town has winters in the months from December till March when temperature falls below -15 degrees.
