In Nova Scotia, Canada, the eastern region of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality has a community called as Glace Bay. From 1901 to 1995, it was an independent incorporated town and the largest town in Nova Scotia with reference to population and the fourth largest urban region in the province. Further, the municipal government was dissolved and Glace Bay was amalgamated into a larger regional municipality. Glace Bay is basically hilly and heavily forested. At the bottom of the hills, there are low lying regions that are made up of bogs and marshes. Along most of the coast, there are rocky cliffs around the ocean.
Glace Bay has a population of 16,984 as per the 2001 census.
There is an average temperate marine climate in Glace Bay. July and August are the warmest months with a temperature of 26 degrees Celsius in the day and 16 degrees Celsius at night. The coldest months are January (-5.7 degrees Celsius) and February (-6.5 degrees Celsius)
