The Halifax Piece Hall was a cloth hall where the trading of the woolen cloth pieces was done. This hall was opened in 1779 and was only open for business for almost two hours on a Saturday morning and had 315 merchants trading rooms. The Piece Hall was used as a public market after the mechanization of the cloth industry. At present, it is also used as a public market.
