Tourist Guide Barrie
Barrie lies on ‘Kempenfelt Bay’, i.e. an ‘arm’ of ‘Lake Simcoe’ within Ontario’s southern part. In spite of being part of ‘Simcoe County’ from the geographical point of view, this municipality is separate (politically). The southern and northern ends of this place have been alienated by a cavernous valley that comprises of ‘downtown area’ along ‘Kempenfelt Bay’.
Interchanging of Highway 400 and Highway 11 takes place at Barrie’s north-eastern end. Majority of people consider this as a gateway to resort destinations of Central Ontario.
Barrie, as such, doesn’t have major rivers in its vicinity. However, it does have several streams and creeks; many of which get emptied in to Kempenfelt Bay.
The climate of Barrie goes this way: short, humid, warm summers, and snowy winters.
Proximity to ‘Great lakes’ helps a great deal in having the temperatures moderated. The period between November and January would prove to be the best one to pay a visit.
The population has been estimated to be 128430.
