Belleville is a French word meaning Belle ville, a Beautiful city. The city is located at the mouth of the Moira River in Canada in the Quebec City Windsor Corridor. It is also the seat of Hastings County.

As per the 2006 census, the population of the city was 48,821 and the metropolitan population was 91,518. There are 4 distinctive seasons in the city. The summer is with modest rainfall and comfortable temperature. Winters are not that cold and snowfall is lower than other parts.

Belleville is located at in southeastern Ontario in between the cities of Napanee to the east and Quinte West to the west. These cities are well connected by both the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway and the Ontario’s Highway 2. The city is located in-between zone and considered a part of the Eastern Ontario or Central Ontario regions by diverse sources. Officially this city is a part of the Central Ontario region and located to the Westside of St. Lawrence River’s starting point.
