Brampton can be described as the 3rd-biggest city located in Ontario’s Greater Toronto Area, in Canada. It’s also seat of ‘Peel Region’.
Brampton enjoys the pride of being amongst the quickest growing municipalities in Canada.
This is evident from its yearly growth rate on an average; which is around 6.6%. Median age being 33.7, it has been credited for being GTA’s youngest community. In the year 2003, sesquicentennial anniversary was celebrated.
The name ‘Brampton’ has been derived from a rural town ‘Brampton, Cumbria’; which lies in England. Most of the ‘population’ consists of ‘visible minorities’.
Brampton’s industry relating to ‘green house’ played an important role in making it earn the title ‘The Flowertown of Canada’.
In 1960s, Bramalea got built as ‘satellite city’. The year 1974 marked its annexure in to Brampton. 1980s could also marked some change. Huge tracts of ‘land’ got released to various residential developers. The population as per 2006 census was 433806.
