Cornwall is located in the eastern part of Ontario of Canada and is considered as the seat for United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry.
This beautiful city is situated on St. Lawrence River. With its beautiful landscape and many interesting sightseeing this city captivates the heart of the dwellers as well as the visitors across the globe. The town is also known as “The Friendly Seaway City”.
The city holds a diverse and rich history. Earlier the name of the town was New Johnson but the recent one was named after Prince George, the Duke of Cornwall. The town was incorporated in the year 1834 and formed as a city in the year 1945. The first inhabitants who came to this place were disbanded soldiers and refugees of the First Battalion King’s Royal Regiment of New York. With the building of largest international hydroelectric power dam this place started developing commercially.
Cornwall has a humid continental climate with snowfalls during winters.
The population of this city according to 2006 census is 45,965.
