Tourist Guide Kingston

Kingston can be described as a city located in Ontario, Canada; along eastern end with regards to Lake Ontario. This is the place where lake runs in to St. Lawrence river and ‘Thousand lakes’ start.

Kingston happens to be county seat with respect to Frontenac County.

The nickname ‘Limestone City’ has been given to Kingston owing to several historic buildings constructed from ‘local limestone’. This city sits besides Rideau Canal and Fort Henry that had been registered in the year 2007 in the form of ‘UNESCO World Heritage Site’.

Kingston is reported to have humid, warm summers, and cool winters. Both, cold and heat occur from an extreme point of view; that too, for short time-spans. Comparing it with rest of continental Canada, climate can be considered as ‘temperate’. In winter and fall, temperatures get moderated by delayed cooling with respect to Great Lakes. Conversely, delayed warming takes place on ‘spring days’.

As per 2006 Canadian census, population of Kingston was 117207.
