Leamington was incorporated as a village in the year 1876 with cross roads hamlet and 300 residents. The place at that time was famous for lumbering with various lumber products. Earlier there were docks and fishes were found in plenty in the Lake Erie. Thus fish was the cheapest food for the people of this region and they survived on it.
In the 1908 HJ Heinz came to this town and urbanization evolved with many jobs in hand.
The climate of this place is moderate and can be visited throughout the year.
The population of this place comes to 31,113 according to 2007 census.
