Tourist Guide London
London can be described as a city located in ‘Southwestern Ontario, Canada’ along ‘Quebec City-Windsor Corridor’.
The city of London is seat of ‘Middlesex County’; at forks of non-navigable ‘Thames River’, almost halfway between Detroit, Michigan, and Toronto, Ontario. This place is one of the ‘single-tier municipalities’; politically separate as compared to Middlesex County; even though it officially remains county seat.
The city of London was settled on the permanent basis from 1801 to 1804 by Europeans. Moreover, it acquired the status of a hamlet in the year 1826. From then onwards, London has developed tremendously in terms of manufacturing, tourism, health care, and education.
London is known to have a ‘humid continental climate’. Contrasting seasons are experienced; owing to proximity to Great lakes. Winters experience thaws on frequent basis; whereas summers are warm-hot.
As per 2006 Canadian Census, population of London was 352395.
