Taking the White Water Walk at Niagara Falls means seeing the falls like you’ve never seen them before. Situated alongside the Niagara River, the White Water Walk lets visitors witness the powerful Horseshoe and American Falls as they spill trillions of gallons of water down into the river gorge.
Visitors can access the trail from ground level by taking an elevator down 70 meters into the gorge and then walking underground for another 70 meters. The White Water Walk trail runs along the Niagara’s magnificent whitecaps for 305 meters, allowing visitors to hear, see and smell the world-famous waters at Niagara Falls.
Over hundreds of millions of year, the river gorge that houses the White Water Walk trail was carved out by the falls. Today, the water races by the trail at speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour, although speeds of over 100 km/hr have been recorded.
The White Water Walk is open from early April to late October each year.
