Officially known as the “Tower of Victory and Peace”, the Peace Tower was built during the 1920s honoring over 60,000 soldiers who had served during the First World War.
With a focal bell along with a clock tower, it sits on the central axis of the Center Block of the Canadian parliament buildings in Ottawa, Ontario. This historic monument serves as a Canadian icon and appears on the obverse of the Canadian fifty and twenty dollar bills.
This historic place was designed by John A. Pearson and Jean Omer Marchand.
