Peterborough is a city and is located on the Otonabee River in the central eastern part of Ontario in Canada.
This city is also known as the gateway to the cottage county of Kawarthas which is a large recreational town of this province. The city was named after a Canadian politician, Peter Robinson in respect of his honor.
The city has a beautiful landscape with recreational activities for its visitors as well as for the residents with higher rate of commercialization, and agricultural base. Some of the major industrial hubs are located in this region.
Peterborough has rich cultural heritage that can be reflected from the
presence of various cultural centers and historical museums.
This city has a mixed population of South Asian, Chinese, Black and Latin American and according to 2006 census the population of this place comes to 74,898.
Peterborough experiences a climate of warm summers and thus belongs to Warm Summer Continental region.
