North Toronto is the northern section of the old, pre-amalgamation city of Toronto. It occupies a geographically central area within the present “megacity” boundaries. Relatively a narrow strip, north Toronto is centered on Yonge Street. Further, it was incorporated in 1890, when much of its area was still a farmland and annexed by the Toronto city in 1912.
