Charlottetown, the birthplace of Canada, is the capital of Prince Edward Island, one of Canada’s Atlantic Provinces. The city is also the seat of Queens County. It lies on the Charlottetown Harbour and is bordered by the North and Hillsborough Rivers.
The city is served by the Charlottetown Airport which has flights to Canadian and American cities. The National Park of the island is also within close proximity to the city.
The average temperature in Charlottetown is around 23°C in the summer months. During the winter season, the average temperature is around –3°C.
With a population of more than 50,000 residents, Charlottetown is a popular destination for tourists and history buffs because it is where the Confederation of Canada started shaping in 1871.
