Tourist Guide Summerside
Summerside is the 2nd largest city in the state of Prince Edward Island and is situated in Prince County. Initially the place was a town but was later incorporated as a city on 1st of April 1995. The city covers a total area of 10.9 sq miles and has an elevation of 95.1 feet. There are several Victorian houses in the city which have been converted for commercial purposes. As per the census of 2009 the city has a population of 17,000 inhabitants.
Summerside provides a cold climate which is however milder to other regions of Canada. Summers are humid and mild with temperatures reaching 30ºC and the average temperature in the winter is around -10ºC. The winters are long and summers continue through September. There are several waterfront industrial sites in the city and a new boardwalk is constructed for the people along the waterfront.
