Tourist Guide Buckingham
In the Province of Quebec, Canada is the Outaouais region where the Buckingham City is located. It has been named after a county situated in England. The city lies on the banks of the Du Lievre River, which is one of the main tributaries of the Ottawa River. From 1st January 2002, Buckingham has been made a section of the amalgamated city of Gatineau. This city was created by combining five former municipalities – Gatineau, Aylmer, Hull, Buckingham and Masson-Angers. The city is a part of the federal riding of Pontiac and the provincial riding of Papineau. Public transport service is offered along Route 98 which is an interzone route towards Ottawa and Route 96 that serves from Masson-Angers to Les Promenades de l’Outaouais via Buckingham.
The population of Buckingham as per the 2006 Census was 22,078.
The coldest months are from December to February with temperatures dropping below zero degrees Celsius. July is the warmest month with temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius.
