The year 1980 witnessed opening of Currency Museum of Bank of Canada. It’s a home to ‘national Currency Collection’, i.e. the biggest collection of coins, notes, and tokens belonging to Canada. One can opt for guided tours, which operate on regular basis. A tour is an hour-long informative visit which makes provisions for a striking overview of collection. Various programs get organized at ‘learning center’ of this museum.
As per George Bernard Shaw, nothing is as important as money in life. Many people would not agree to this. However, the point here is that one can study about evolution of money since ages at this place. Unusual and diverse currencies from the other countries can also be seen.
Timings
Currency Museum belonging to Bank of Canada remains open from Mondays to Saturdays between 1030 and 1730 hrs; and on Sundays between 1300 and 1700 hrs. These timings are applicable for summer season. In winters, museum remains closed on Mondays.
