Place Royale in the Lower Town in old Quebec is known to be the oldest French settlement in America.
This place is the center of historic and archaeological site of Housing-Samuel de Champlain. It is also home to the Church of Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, which is the oldest stone church in North America.
Moreover, this district is also the largest surviving ensemble of 17th and the 18th century.
