Québec is a mix of France and the U.S., but maintains its own cultural identity: the result can sometimes be surprisingly creative as its art scene shows.
The Davis Astrof Fine Arts is a house dedicated to collecting the artistic heritage of the area: you can visit the house at any time to visit its collection and buy, at a reasonable price, a painting if you would like.
Québec is also known for its good cinema, and you could say the same for Montréal, the other important city in this Québec. La Maison du Cinéma offers movies all week long for free, usually it is not very full and you can see some unexpected rarities.
Also check out the Conseilles des Artres et des Lettres du Quebec that organize weekly events around the area. It is not on definite dates so check the website or their offices in Montreal.
