The oldest perpetually inhabited European settlement in Quebec, Canada, is a village called as Tadoussac. It is also the oldest surviving French settlement in the Americas. In the 17th century, this place was a crucial French trading post. This village is based at the confluence of the River Saguenay with the River Saint Lawrence. Due to this mixture, a rich marine environment is created and this become an ideal place for whales to prosper. The Baie-Ste-Catherine / Tadoussac ferry provides free and frequent service across the River Saguenay and the Eastern Terminus of this ferry is the village Tadoussac.
The population of Tadoussac as per the 2005 census is 857.
The temperature in Tadoussac varies from -19 to 23 degrees Celsius. The yearly average temperature is 2 degrees Celsius. The annual precipitation is 1080 millimeters.
