Tourist Guide Victoriaville
Victoriaville is located in the central of Quebec in Canada. It is seat of Arthabaska Regional County Municipality.
The place was known as Abenaki people’s as Arthabaska or Awabaska that means place of “bulrushes and reeds”. The place was inhabited by fur trader named John Gregory in the year 1825. Earlier the colonists from the bank of St Lawrence River arrived at this place. The place was named to honor the Queen Victoria after the inauguration of the railway industry.
Victoriaville emerged as urbanization in the year 1931 with the establishment of hospital, the opening of a college and school. Although the name Arthabaska was retained by the residents of the city and thus this name was given to one of the highest mountains overlooking the city.The place encompasses an area of 84.20 kilometer square.
The climate of this place is quiet moderate and can be visited at any time of the year.
The population of the town comes to 40,486.
