The rich history of this region can be explored at Royal Saskatchewan Museum with exhibits on geology, palaeontology, archaeology and anthropology. An important museum is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Museum with memorabilia on the Canadian Police. For a unique experience, visit the Wanuskewin Heritage Park, which illustrates the way of life of the indigenous people.

Saskatchewan’s most attractive park Prince Albert National Park, located on the edge of the Canadian Shield, has rich flora and fauna. Close by is the Lavallée Lake with Canada’s second largest colony of white pelicans. Visit the Echo Valley Provincial Park, in the heart of the Qu’Appelle Valley and try hiking. Highly recommended is a visit to ‘1910 Boomtown’ (part of the Western Development Museum) in Saskatoon, which recreates the rural history of the western part of Canada with a typical prairie town.

Visit the Ukrainian Museum of Canada for a taste of the Ukrainian culture. For a rare experience, take to trip to the petroleum plant and oil rigs in the town of Lloydminster organised by the local Chamber of Commerce.
